Hi Joey,
I found the problem with the projector, a plastic part (fan shaft cap) got loose and fell onto another
part that runs hot when the lamp is on. The cap was melted onto the hot part and would smell or
smoke when the lamp was on. I removed it with no problem.
Also I noticed the focus motor shaft gear is broken. You can still focus with the knob though.
Bottom line is you can use the projector now but the melted cap should be eventually replaced.
The broken focus gear needs to be replaced only if you use the remote control.
