Amy Goodman spoke with Bud Welch on her radio show today about gun control and the Death Penalty. In the interview Bud was an exceptional man with real experience, he lost his daughter in the Oklahoma Bombing. I have met various people in my career over the years, who have been impacted by the death penalty, but honestly Bud appears to be the most honest in his resolve. There is just something about him that feels very peaceful and sincere. He almost appears to have been pushed to the point of an inner self-motivated exorcism and now lives every single day in peace-mode. I liked him a lot (obviously). I liked him so much that I rebooted up my laptop in order to toss up this blog about him. He is very real. And his pain is something that only he will ever be able to truly understand. Yet for all, and any of us who have experienced a severe loss meriting the moral debate of the Death Penalty, this guy is someone to look up to. I admire him and am grateful that Amy had him on today while discussing the Aurora massacre.
