FUNDRAISER for Light Industry

Summer Fundraiser 2012
June 3 - July 15

Since launching in March 2008, Light Industry has brought us more than 150 events—screenings, lectures, discussions, performances—first at Industry City in Sunset Park, then at a former department store in downtown Brooklyn, and across the city when we were hosted by venues like Anthology Film Archives, BAM,Dia:Chelsea, Film Forum, and ISSUE Project Room, among others. In 2012, following our nomadic beginnings, we've begun a five-year lease on a ground-floor space at 155 Freeman Street in Greenpoint, which we're sharing with our roommates Triple Canopy and The Public School New York, marking an exciting new chapter in the history of the organization.

Now, following on the success of last year's summer fundraiser, they are in the final week of their fourth annual campaign, and very nearly met their goal of raising $12,000. Donations will help in providing fees for artists (like me) and curators, supporting travel for out-of-town guests, paying for the rental and shipping of rare film prints, and establishing a new publication series.

This project is made possible through the support, financial and otherwise, of dedicated audiences, and proudly runs Light Industry on a lean, no-nonsense budget, which means that donations of any size can make a considerable impact.

Open up ur wallet and help. Don't be stingy on this one.
