FCP X and ADOBE PREMIERE now dominate the non-linear editing field. FCP X has lost its edge. Premiere is a has-been now reemerging. FCP X cannot be purchased in a box any longer, it can only be downloaded via iTunes. ADOBE can only be 'leased', like a friggin' car, on a monthly basis (and managed on the Cloud). So, now your home editing abilities are virtual, and owning your own personal editing software is virtually an antiquated idea.
