Yesterday I heard French filmmaker Alexandre Aja talk about the U.S. being the only country that he has observed to not provide film directors with a 'final cut.' Sad. Making his work in Europe allows him the ability to rewrite a script during mid-production if needed and even recut as needed during post production stage in order to best serve the film being created. Not since the 1970's have American film artists enjoyed that privilege. This kind of authoritarian control issued by film studios does not only harm and censor an artists voice, it harms and censors the audiences ability to experience the honesty that exists in true art.
bye.
