I did it fur(for) Chewy.

Spoiler Alert: Han Solo gets killed by an otter from the planet Janeyott by singing the Star Wars tune out of key. Bye bye, Han:(  You and Boba Fett are the ones that made this series edgy. Nice try Abrams, what you have done here is redeem Lucas by bringing back the dead. You're a good man for that, but no good deed goes unpunished. May the Force Be With You now, JJ.

BTW- I must say that the proper way to see this is on a planet size IMAX screen. IMAX does provide an odd hope for cinema as a social/anti-socialization library hush hush experience.

bye Han :(

Alda.

It was great to see Alan Alda cast and acting in, 'Bridge of Spies.'  This writer loves Alan Alda. The Coen brothers wrote this script and I imagine that they had him in mind- imagination and hope are one in the same here.  Bye.

p.s.  I can't help but think that William Kunstler (God bless his dead soul) would have loved this film- at least for what it stands for regarding the choices that we make when faced with ethical breach seductions. 'Standing Man,' that is what William was...and that is what his legacy is. His work stands tall, and in a league of its own. Having seen all of the potential Oscar nominees up for awards next year, and the announced Golden Globe film nominees, this film is the strongest, thus far. Yes, it is colored by a canvass of an expired? Cold War narrative and a typical Hanks formulaic 'nice guy' thing that he does so well, but the film forces us to regress back into remembering why the Constitution of the United States was drafted to begin with. The film is important and has been made in a filmic language that is accessible to the general public. With the upcoming dirty election and a newfound hysteria being customized for the new outsider migrant crossing all borders, this movie is a bridge that we should be encouraged to walk over and check out. And if you go with somebody and end up getting into an argument about the movie after the fact, keep in mind that 'the power of negotiation' will be your most effective key.

"I never want to go back to Berlin. It's a cold, grim, unglamorous city, lacking in charisma, stingingly provincial, it reminds me of an old alcoholic aunt who was once vivacious and naughty, and now is just face lifted and cruel."

Carrie Fisher on being normal.

She really seems truly genuine and sweet. Hope she gets great things from the new film. She deserves it. bye.

Margot Kidder/Christopher Reeves chemistry

Watching the original 'Superman' movies.
Margot Kidder is not only a great actress (watch her in Brian DePalma's 'Sisters'), but she truly did have dead-on chemistry with Christopher Reeves. It seems the films with Reeves were not based on spectacular special fx, but on spectacular performances. Top notch actors taking a campy super hero story 'seriously.' Great movies (the Reeves ones). R.I.P. Christopher Reeves. And Margot Kidder's acting career due to her illness. Bye.

This is how simple waking up should be...

Abrams shot on 35 mm Kodak film.

I kinda thought so by the looks of the desert scenes in the early trailers.  Smart and nostalgic move there JJ. bye.

Jingle Bells to the New Batch: gremlins 2

Maybe the fact that Warner Bros. was paying out the nose for five years trying to get other people to come up with a sequel to the original 'GREMLINS' 80's smash Christmas hit , they settled back with Dante. No one cracked it, so they went to the original's director and said if you make this sequel (director Joe Dante never wanted to see a Gremlin again after the first movie) that they would give him a big budget and total creative control.
Joe Dante is a cinematic anarchist on a big mainstream scale, and he decided to make an anti-sequel, anti-original movie, Mad Magazine, Mad-Libs, Looney Tunes inspired(obviously) sequel to end all sequels and GREMLINS forever.
Of course they are in the process of remaking the first movie, so I guess he failed. Sort of.  Both of Dante's GREMLINS are fun New York set holiday 'cheer' movies and alternatives to the 'Star Wars' long lined hype. One thing that both of these films have in common (STAR WARS and GREMLINS) are merchandising brilliance and capitalism at its most grossest element.

That said, I'm thinking GREMLINS wins the cake, and eats, the cake. bye.

The editorial power of 'green screen' special fx ...

REST IN PEACE, PETER O'TOOLE :(

See you on NETFLIX tonight, outta deep respect. No worries, you and your movies won't get wet tonight- cuz I bagged you all up. bye.

O'Toole died at Wellington Hospital, London, aged 81. His funeral was held at Golders Green Crematorium in London on 21 December 2013, where he was cremated in a wicker coffin.
O'Toole's remains are planned to be taken to Connemara, Ireland. His daughter Kate said: "We're bringing him home. It's what he would have wanted. After a good shower, of course."

"Dear Santa Flaws, my chestnuts are roasting on an open fire for your big day. Please get me this flying car as seen above and put it under my fake DOLLAR STORE tree. I promise to obey all of the floatable air stop signs and not pop wheelies during rush hour- I actually don't even think this thing can do that. But, I won't put smoke bombs in the exhaust pipe. That, I will give you my word on.  Pretty please...get me this Flying Smart Car, with goofy elves on top :(  btw , I was a good wonderful boy this year.  Here'z a polaroid for you and Rudolph to hang on your fridge. I hope you have a magnet for it that works. Love, me."

'Love Is In The Air.'

Love is in the air
Everywhere I look around
Love is in the air
Every fighter jet and every sound

And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in your eyes

Love is in the air
In the whisper of the trees
Love is in the air
In the thunder of the gypsy infested seas

And I don't know if I'm just dreaming
Don't know if I feel sane
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when you call out my name

(Blogger Chorus)
Love is in the air
Love is in the air
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

Love is in the air
In the rising of the sun
Rove is in the stare
When the poll is nearly done

And I don't know if you're an illusion
Don't know if I see it true
But you're something that I must believe in
And you're there when I reach out for you

Love is in the air
Every sight and every sound
And I don't know if I'm being foolish
Don't know if I'm being wise

But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when I look in Dubya's eyes

Tis' that season to be ...

                  Jolly?
