The beautiful, brilliant, prolific and impeccable actress Isabelle Huppert(age 63) is introduced with her director Paul Verhoeven (age 78) and discusses her two new films that debut at our NYFF festival 2016. I'm not sure what bit into Paul after that 'Showgirls' flop, but this guy is now making work beyond anything he's done before. Maybe Clint Eastwood's (age 86) work ethic has motivated Paul's mojo or sumthin'. Man, this new stuff Paul's doing with toying around with mood, humor and drama is stuff that I haven't experienced in a film in years. All that nonsense about television killing dramatic cinema can be disposed of right now, Paul and Huppert just delivered a major knock out (no pun intended regarding Elle, I swear).
