f stop .75

Well the Leica and Canon fast lenses of this world are pretty easily accessible if you have the cash. And no amount of money in the world is going to get you near one of the Kubrick lenses (unless you are prepared to sell your organs). So how to you get that extra speed? Well, you get one of these seflie iPhones?…

Apparently taking inspiration from Stanley’s Kubrick’s favorite lens, the Zeiss .7 50mm, and originally designed for X-ray cameras in the medical field, the De Oude Delft Rayxar is a 50mm f/.75 prime that has been modified with a Leica M mount. The result is a very fast aperture of f.75.
Although the lens is really fast, it has some strange side affects. Since it was meant for taking x-ray images, the lens doens’t have an aperture or focusing array, as a result, it only has a set focus area of about 6.5 feet, and users would need to have a live view setup in order to properly frame a subject to keep it in focus.
