Savage Streets

Ned Daigle of BMN Review disliked the film and said "Everything about Savage Streets is bad, from the acting, to the screenplay, to the direction, to even the horrid music score and songs performed by John Farnham who sounds like the unholy lovechild of Loverboy and Foreigner. Deplorable is the only word I can come up with as a description. See Savage Streets at your own risk."

Linda Blair is at her very best in this one.
And, a soundtrack that's sooo bad, it's good.
Thanks Ned Dangle for your awesome review (read review above),because all you really did was make me appreciate this film even more even though you left out the AquaNet fluffy hairstyles that were depicted. Thumbs up, the movie gets a 10 scale rating over here. bye.

G.I. John Huston

"If I ever make a film that is pro-war. take me out and shoot me."  - director John Huston

John Huston was commissioned by the United States ARMY, during his military service, to make a film. He created a film about shell-shock that he titled, 'Let There Be Light' in 1946 using real soldiers and a musical score (i.e. a hybrid documentary). The film was made and pulled multiple times by the military police whenever Huston attempted to screen the film (once military police even pulled it from a screening at the MoMA !) because the ARMY was horrified by how Huston portrayed the effects of war on soldiers. It was NOT until 1981 that Huston was able to screen his film to the general public without having any military interference. 'Let There Be Light' is a film that directly observes military hospitalizations of soldiers who have endured post traumatic stress disorder caused by the experiences and things that they saw during military service. The film was later re-done (white washed) using actors and they called it 'Shades of Gray.' bye.

John Huston's father narrated this film for his son.

The Bruce Smeaton score.

Iceman- Great film, great musical score (particularly the wind instrument used to create the thematic hook melody) but, total and terrible hair perm on actor Tim Hutton for the scientist role. Sorry Tim, it's so true. bye.

Script Breakdown.

Dario Argento's brilliant sensory overload visual dischord film, SUSPIRIA was one of the last film's shot in TECHNICOLOR. Amazing amazing amazing work (pay close attention to the drum sounds in its original score- wow). And those hyper stylized set-designed rooms, WTF. This film is more impressionistic than script driven, which makes it absolute art from some other world. bye bye.

Out-Of-Print 16mm 1975 / Robbie Benson film catalog.

"Holy Sonnet X"
Death be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadful, for, thou art not so, For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow, Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me. From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee, Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow, And soonest our best men with thee doe goe, Rest of their bones, and souls deliverie. Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men, And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell, And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well, And better than thy stroake; why swell'st thou then; One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally, And death shall be no more, Death, thou shalt die. Bye.

Original 1971 Marketing Ad for, 'Panic In Needle Park'

Notice that Griffin Dunne's dad author Dominick Dunne produced this movie (before he started following and documenting true-crime trial hearings after the death of his own daughter).

So, Bane will be the next 007.

Actor Tom Hardy has confirmed interest in playing James Bond – by refusing to discuss the matter. Speaking to the Daily Beast, Hardy was keen to express enthusiasm at the interviewer’s suggestion Inception director Christopher Nolan take over the franchise. “Oh, wow, Chris would be amazing!” said Hardy. “Wow, that would be cool. That would be so cool.” When pressed, Hardy ducked the question of his taking over the mantle from current 007 Daniel Craig by making reference to a conspiracy of silence among contenders.

Classic Original Soundtrack by Queen- Flash Gordon

Let's not forget that Queen's guitarist Brian May did the original MAD MAX soundtrack, too. Both are very different approaches to very popcorn-type movies. Subtle details throughout the emotional swelling and guitar screams. Excellent woven moodscaping using 9-volt battery guitar pedal effects, something that I feel Jimmy Page nailed in his Death Wish 2 score. Nowadays (except for Hans Zimmer and Trent Reznor) not a whole lot of interesting film score approaches happening with big movie productions, as they are unfortunately more focused - and paid hefty- on the big giant 3 second 'boom' scares. yawn = boring. bye.

Joseph Fiennes cast as Michael Jackson in UK series.

Fiennes stars with Stockard Channing as Elizabeth Taylor and Brian Cox as Marlon Brando in "Urban Myths," a series of "tru ... ish" stories including a fabled one in which the three stars supposedly took a cross-country road trip together after 9/11. Paris Jackson said she also took offense at the portrayal of Taylor, a good friend of her father's and her godmother. "It angers me to see how obviously intentional it was for them to be this insulting, not just towards my father, but my godmother Liz as well," Jackson tweeted. "Where is the respect," she added. "They worked through blood sweat and tears for ages to create such profound and remarkable legacies. Shameful portrayal."

THE UK TV TRAILER, LOL LUV IT...

Looks like perfect comedy casting to me. bye.

p.s. UK just banned the episode since the Paris Jackson blasted the casting, so now the irony is that this film's physical whereabouts and digital ownership will be the new 'urban myth.' Life IS stranger than fiction and stranger than any of those 3 certifiable crazy folks riding in that car.
