I met Spike years ago, literally crossing the street at 6th avenue. Spike had me work on 'Girl 6' at SoundOne and I almost got cast in 'Summer of Sam' had it not been for my day job. Despite all the controversy his films elicit, the guy is the real deal and a true artist (and an epic eccentric- so yeah we always hit it off well). Love Spike and this night was for him and was so damn deserved. His first 10 years of making indie films are extraordinary from 'She's Gotta Have It' to 'Mo' Betta Blues' - extraordinary.
