'The Silence of Others' (produced by Almodovar)

US Premiere introduction by Spain Consulate
Produced by Pedro Almodovar and filmed over six years, 'THE SILENCE OF OTHERS' reveals the epic struggle of victims of Spain’s 40-year dictatorship under General Franco, as they organize a groundbreaking international lawsuit and fight a "pact of forgetting" around the crimes they suffered. A cautionary tale about fascism and the dangers of forgetting the past. Despite the film being quite Madridcentric, it truly is a wake-up call on just how crazy and evil things can get during groupthink (which is why we must all remember to think for ourselves). See this powerful movie about the sins of our past regarding issues of state-imposed amnesia of crimes against humanity, eugenics, mass graves of families who now use DNA in order to seek dignified burials for their loved ones, state-ordered theft of babies by nuns, and torture. bye.

"HOW UNJUST LIFE IS.
NOT LIFE.
WE HUMANS...WE ARE UNJUST."
