I stand behind Alec Baldwin ( just not in front of him ).

Despite Alec's short fuse and temper, I personally have met Alec on multiple occasions in my life and he is a very sensitive kind man- don't believe the hype. The entire ordeal here with the accidental discharge on-set of 'RUST' was an absolute tragedy and a dereliction of duty on the production's part. Don't believe everything ya read in the papers (fake news inc).

Happy Halloween 2021 (double-mask this year?)

Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on October 31, and Halloween 2021 will occur on Sunday, October 31. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats. bye-bye.

Introducing Selma.

I just watched the new documentary titled, ‘INTRODUCING, SELMA BLAIR’. I cannot recommend this film enough. It’s so moving. The film is a beautiful testimonial on one person’s (actress Selma Blair) struggle with Multiple Sclerosis

Winter clothing shopping sprees- inflated?

"mirror, mirror on da wall, .... where's the inflation after all" -- Walmart

WASHINGTON - U.S. consumer spending surged in August, but outlays adjusted for inflation were weaker than initially thought in the prior month, reinforcing expectations that economic growth slowed in the third quarter as COVID-19 infections flared up.

The report from the Commerce Department, which showed inflation remaining hot in August, raised the risk of consumer spending stalling in the third quarter, even if spending accelerates further in September. Inflation-adjusted, or the so-called real consumer spending is what goes into the calculation of gross domestic product.

Goods spending fell 2.1% in July. Spending on services rose 0.6% in August, supported by housing, utilities and health care. Services, which account for the bulk of consumer spending, increased 1.1% in July. Spending is shifting back to services from goods, but the resurgence in coronavirus cases, driven by the Delta variant, crimped demand for air travel, hotel accommodation and sales at restaurants and bars. A survey from the Institute for Supply Management on Friday showed manufacturers experienced longer delays getting raw materials delivered to factories and paid higher prices for inputs in September.

Stocks on Wall Street were higher. The dollar fell against a basket of currencies. U.S. Treasury prices were mixed.

Legendary artist Ken Jacobs was born on May 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York and is an American experimental filmmaker. He is the director of Tom, Tom, the Piper's Son (1969, USA), which was admitted to the National Film Registry in 2007. His Star Spangled to Death (2004, USA) is a nearly seven-hour film consisting largely of found footage. Jacobs taught at the Cinema Department at Harpur College at Binghamton University from 1969 to 2002. His son Azazel Jacobs is also a filmmaker. The style of Jacobs is largely concentrated around the technique of "found footage" - the author works with a stranger in a kinomaterial, sometimes occasional, conceptualizing it on the mounting table. So not only "Star Spangled to Death" appeared, but also another cult film Jacobs "Tom Tom Son Dudocar." "Tom Tom" consists of a multifaceted and detailed analysis of the 1905 film, in which the timing tape increases with eight minutes to almost two hours. Committed in 1969 "Tom, Tom, The Piper's Son" is one of the first examples of deconstruction in the cinema.

In addition to assembly works, Jacobs was engaged in the production. The most famous game film Jacobs became the "Cobra Blonde", shot in the sign of 1963 with the participation of Jack Smith. In the same year, Jack Smith himself removed "Flaming Creatures", and Ron Rice - "Meet the Queen Shebia with an atomic man."

In the 90s, began working with John Zorn and experiment using a stroboscopic effect, digital video and 3D.

Faro

Looking forward to seeing the new film, Bergman Island today. I don't really care about the storyline, just wanna see the film as a way to vicariously revisit that special tiny dreary island off the coast of Gotland, Sweden.
Clip that I took with my Iphone in Ingmar Bergman's private home theatre at FARO ISLAND during 'Bergman Week'  2017 !

Excellent spoiling review on Halloween

I agree with most of his points in this review. He's right about some of the dialogue being corny, but wrong about Castle losing highest ranking of performance. Nick Castle was the original inventor of the performance and remains the best performer for Myers-  how he communicates indifference with very rigid and restricted body language is genius. Overall the movie is very entertaining and has good solid script, they just went a bit too overboard with the body count. What is most frightening about the character of Myers has always been the stalking and not the killings. I hope that the final film in this trilogy clearly explains how in the living hell you can kill off a character who at this point can withstand having a pitchfork stabbed into his back and be shot in the face by a furious mob. Hmmmmm, let's see in 2022 how they explain that one. bye.
Talk about having 'flat affect'  lol

D-Blok Snag. 16mm film transfer to Digital 4K. Theatrical Screening at MoMA Museum of Modern Art, 2022.

D-Blok Snag: A land art film that examines the poverty of a residential block in the South Bronx. Torched stolen cars, abandoned mutt dogs and dirty laundry are a few of the visual anchors that weave this location study together. This film was shot on Tri-X film and in-camera edited using a 16mm Bolex camera.

Closed for business.

So strange to see that record stores and book stores that used to be so much fun to spend hours in are now CLOSED and out of business. So sad and terrible. I remember when I worked for S.I.R. (Studio Instrument Rentals) and I'd set up drum kits and P.A. Systems inside of Tower and Virgin Record stores for new album releases for bands to perform live and do their groupie meet and greets. The ones that left the strongest memories on me that I helped set up and break down sets were Billie Joel, Elton John, Cyndi Lauper, Diamanda Galas, The Allman Brothers, Bjork, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Lil Kim, Motley Crue, Joan Jett and Tony Orlando and Dawn

I still miss riding around in their giant-ass red S.I.R. (Studio Instrument Rentals) truck cutting off NYC yellow taxi cabs (we called them the street bullies) in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Legendary visual artist Ken Jacobs and his wife, painter Flo Jacobs interview with Joey Huertas. This interview covers the history and creation of the The Millennium Film Workshop and Journal publication - both staples of New York City's underground experimental avant-garde film culture since the 1960's.

This interview was recorded during the Covid-19 lockdown Pandemic.
After the interview, Ken shares his latest new film, 'TWO WRENCHING DEPARTURES' in its entirety.
