Kubrick.

Not sure how Kubrick would feel about new untethered technology such as Pokeman Go (now known as the Donald Trump of AR) and theatrical AR (AUGMENTED REALITY) based immersive storytelling experimentation, but he'd probably be interested in hearing things out. The entire thing needs to keep getting simpler, less nerdy and more character-based in order to really find a permanent audience base, I feel. It's all very interesting stuff and something will strike a revolutionary chord soon, I'm certain.

"so, why drown? "

Very moving documentary. (I) Rate this high as heck.

'Los Punks, We Are All We Have' is really strong and a mix of important personal stories.

Forget about Amanda for a sec, and ask yourself if these filmmakers sold their souls to the devil (i.e.NETFLIX) to get a movie made...or don't ask yourself just go in person and ask them at their test screening - - -

Still pissed Travolta didn't get the Emmy. He should buddy up with Stallone who lost on CREED and create some kind of new disgruntled 'has beens' hashtag group. bye.

The surprising exclamation mark '!'

Jeb! Bush was halarious in the Emmy opening sequence tonight with his surprise cameo as a cabbie, using witty self-deprecating humor and a dumb Vote Jeb! bumper sticker. If only he'd done this at the debates, he was so genuinely halarious tonight. And Kimmel is kicking ass big time. And WTF - Marcia Clarke came too! Tonight's show rules and has put Oscar night to shame. What is kinda scary now is that this entire thing is proof (like the Trump phenomena) that television has taken over the visual arts inc. corporate market place and the idea of any communal cinema experience will soon be long gone. Time to watch The Shining on DVD before that film gets turned that into some silly Amazon series too (starring Matthew Broderick or Judd Nelson or sumthin' like one of them). But wait a second, watching a DVD means that I'm not sitting in some communal movie theatre...hello!  bye.

Demme

New Yorker and partner-in-crime self-proclaimed millennial hippie director Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Something Wild, Stop Making Sense) hanging out to talk movies. Love you Jonny. Stay cool. bye.

Awesome film commentary by Pennebaker on the DVD anniversary release.

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (sometimes called Bowie 1973) is a 1973 documentary and concert film by D. A. Pennebaker. It features David Bowie and his backing group The Spiders from Mars performing at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 3 July 1973. At this show, Bowie made the sudden surprise announcement that the show would be "the last show we'll ever do", later understood to mean that he was retiring his Ziggy Stardust persona. Bowie was from Bromley!

The full-length 90-minute film spent years in post-production before finally having its theatrical premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival on 31 August 1979. Prior to the premiere, the 35 mm film had been shown in 16 mm format a few times, mostly in United States college towns. A shortened 60-minute version was broadcast once in the USA on ABC-TV in October 1974. In 1983, the film was finally released to theatres worldwide, corresponding with the release of its soundtrack album entitled Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture. The following year, in 1984, the film was released to home video under the title, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture. The film was first released on DVD in 1998. A digitally remastered 30th Anniversary Edition DVD, including additional material from the live show and extras, was released in 2003. The commentary by D.A. Pennebakbr is so informative and just flat awesome.

Mel aka Mad Max aka Mad Mel gets standing ovation.

That said, The Entity film's sound designer and composer deserves a standing ovation decades after his great work. A good soundtrack is created and designed with just as much attention to fine detail as a film is cut/edited. ..

p.s. btw, this entire 2016 election cycle has really upset Jimmy Carter and he is now going peanuts right ! (not that his professional record is all that fancy, particularly regarding Israel).

Temperature regulated storage archive.

bye, Jill Ireland.

p.s. On the other side of things regarding temperature control, this is what a 4 terrabyte external portable harddrive looks like - not overheated- as it  backs up about a week's worth of editorial cuts and sound work...

9.11.

This day 9  11 may soon be marked as the most infamous calendar day in our country's history, for more reasons than one. Every day gets scarier and scarier in this election cycle. And nothing happening before our eyes and ears appears to be mortally 'rigged.' At all.
and then this...

Things we shall never truly know.

Despite the blatant theft of the Errol Morris camera interview aesthetic, this NETFLIX project shall be quite an interesting tabloid character study. And, probably will be very educational with regards to the terrors that inhabit our unchartered judicial systems. bye.

"Film acting in many ways is the opposite of theatrical acting which is something that you can repeat and repeat and repeat, over and over again, where film acting is something that you want to have the opportunity to create something that can only happen once in front of a camera."

North Dakota fight pepper spray and pipeline construction on their burial grounds.

"On Saturday, Dakota Access Pipeline and Energy Transfer Partners brazenly used bulldozers to destroy our burial sites, prayer sites and culturally significant artifacts,"  said tribal chairman David Archambault II in a press statement. "They did this on a holiday weekend, one day after we filed court papers identifying these sacred sites," Archambault added. "The desecration of these ancient places has already caused the Standing Rock Sioux irreparable harm. We're asking the court to halt this path of destruction." The emergency motion came after security forces hired by the pipeline company attacked Indigenous demonstrators with dogs and pepper spray on Saturday.
