Australian psychological horror film about a pop-up monster storybook that comes to life , by Jennifer Kent.
'The film was primarily in Adelaide, South Australia, with most of the interior shots filmed on a soundstage. I am not patriotic and didn't want my film to be particularly Australian. I wanted to create a myth in a domestic setting. Even though the story happens in a suburb of Australia somewhere, I'm very happy that it doesn't feel particularly Australian.'
