So I just saw the film, 'The Eyes Of Tammy Faye' at the movies and actress Jessica Chastain has cemented her career with this performance, 100%. She will be nominated for this performance of teleevangelist Tammy Faye Baker and deserves every last accolade that I expect her to get. The actual Tammy Faye (deceased in 2007 from colon cancer) was quite the eccentric colorful personality for sure, but Chastain manages somehow to complicate her televised persona by carving into what was buried underneath all of that ridiculous facial make-up that she wore - a very flawed and very kind human being. I learned so much about the rise and fall of that PTL (Praise The Lord) marital empire Tammy and Jim had created sitting through this great movie (they started with children puppet shows!). Thumbs up to all cast and crew involved in this movie, and even if Chastain doesn't win her Oscar or Golden Globe, she must take time to celebrate all of the nominations coming her way. This film was fair and sympathetic to the both Tammy and Jim, and I found more satire in the use of Diet Coke and Vicks vaporizer period-piece props than of the people themselves. My summary critique for this one- There's still some hope for humanity. bye.
