Cox.

Such mixed feelings after watching director Alex Cox's, Sid and Nancy this week, after so many years (his film REPO MAN may pack the bigger punch). Not sure the film is that important anymore -as far as a cinematic piece of art is concerned. The film's script seems to spend its time exclusively on the destructive codependent relationship that involved substance abuse and the camera focused mostly on pretty colorful shots. Nonetheless, the performances are stellar and you always leave the film thinking that we have all met these kinds of people before in our lives, and that the exclusivity of that punk rock 'club' was really not that exclusive at all. If anything, it was pretty inclusive. We are all inclusively human beings with universal shared problems and crisis'. And in that sense, the film's human plight makes it a pretty relevant and a timeless piece of art directed on film. Weird movie. Important movie. Upsetting movie. And finally, Lyndon seems to have grown all up now, like most of us do in the end. bye.
