Condolences to Ralph Nader and family.
Ralph Nader’s niece was killed on the Ethiopian 737 plane crash that occurred due to new plane technology glitches. This new technology relies solely on ‘artificial intelligence’ created to disregard human pilot management and training costs. Two fatal crashes (346 deaths) within 5 months time since installing the new software on these new planes.
Boycott Boeing! They’re refusing to pull their planes. Leave their 737 seats empty (Southwest, American and AirCanada).

Chickenhawks.
Speaking with Vice President Mike Pence this weekend at a closed-door retreat, Dick Cheney aka VICE warned that American allies were questioning the dependability of the U.S. as a result of Trump's public statements.
So I guess Vice won't be inviting Trump to go hunting with him this weekend.
And, there prob won't be any invite to the Vice from Trump for some McDonalds either (sad cuz- 20 chicken nuggets for $5 in the US right now- it's The New Deal!).
oh well. this is what democracy looks like. and, a recycle box, too. Life goes on.

Schneemann considered her photographic and body pieces to still be based in painting despite appearing otherwise on the surface.She has described herself as "A painter who has left the canvas to activate actual space and lived time."She cites her studies with painter Paul Brach as teaching her to "understand the stroke as an event in time" and to think of her performers as "colors in three dimensions." Schneemann took the ideas found in her figurative abstract paintings of the 1950s, where she cut and destroyed layers of paint from their surfaces, and transferred them to her photographic work Eye Body. Art history professor Kristine Stiles asserts that Schneemann's entire oeuvre is devoted to exploring the concepts of figure-ground, relationality (both through use of her body), and similitude (through the use of cats and trees). Stiles asserts that the issues of sex and politics in Schneemann's work merely dictate how the art is shaped, rather than the formal concepts found behind it. For example, Schneemann relates the colors and movement featured in Fuses to brush strokes in painting. Her 1976 piece Up to and Including Her Limits, too, invoked the gestural brush strokes of the abstract expressionists with Scheemann swinging from ropes and scribbling with crayons onto a variety of surfaces.

The Good Friday Agreement
The Belfast Agreement is also known as the Good Friday Agreement, because it was reached on Good Friday, 10 April 1998. It was a peace agreement between the British and Irish governments, and most of the political parties in Northern Ireland, on how Northern Ireland should be governed. The talks leading to the Agreement addressed issues which had caused conflict during previous decades. The aim was establish a new, devolved government for Northern Ireland in which unionists and nationalists would share power.
On the constitutional question of whether Northern Ireland should remain in the UK or become part of a united Ireland, it was agreed that there would be no change without the consent of the majority. This is called the 'principle of consent'. The autonomy of the Basque region and the fragility of all regional agreements studied in our history books confirms that hard and soft regional borders will always remain at risk depending on 'who's in charge' aka who's elected. Break out the layers.
Which of these furs is warmest when used for winter clothing (gloves, hats, etc)? –possum fur –muskox wool (qiviut) –arctic fox fur –beaver fur –otter fur. I've heard Sea Otter fur has the most hairs per square inch. We see them a lot on-location in Antartica and it certainly works for them in below 30F to 40F degree sea water. But, I don't believe there's a legal harvest of most fur-bearing sea mammals in the USA except for some Natives harvesting (Navy) Seals on ? Saint Lawrence Island? maybe or more likely on one of the Pribilof's. What I see dog mushers use is beaver fur for mitts and hats and feeing them helicopter delivered Walmart beefaroni on weekends. I've got some sheared beaver. Sheared, so it's still soft and dense but not nearly as long as unsheared. PM me and I'll send you a swatch of it in a reusable envelope. And of course fox, wolf or coyote for parka ruffs because your breath doesn't freeze onto it. Tunnel hoods are GREAT in wicked cold. It cuts the wind past your face quite well. Neoprene facemasks are more versatile for most people, but they redirect my breath and my yellow tinted glasses fog up- not good. Tunnel hoods don't do that and canine fur on the ruff would be ideal, although mine do okay with synthetic. The ruff is functional – it cuts the wind inside the tunnel hood by dampening its energy. Otherwise, you get eddies of wind swirling around inside. Muskox is fine and soft but SO expensive and I don't see any performance advantage over, heck, acrylic. Amundsen felt that one of the reasons he succeeded while Scott died in Antarctica what that he used fur, Scott didn't. (Also, Amundsen's dogs could eat dog meat and did. Scott's ponies needed feed.) We don't get a lot of possums up here (i.e. none) so I can't help on that one. Later Gator. Brrr. Me. bye.

Patience was his virtue - well deserved Spike Night!

I met Spike years ago, literally crossing the street at 6th avenue. Spike had me work on 'Girl 6' at SoundOne and I almost got cast in 'Summer of Sam' had it not been for my day job. Despite all the controversy his films elicit, the guy is the real deal and a true artist (and an epic eccentric- so yeah we always hit it off well). Love Spike and this night was for him and was so damn deserved. His first 10 years of making indie films are extraordinary from 'She's Gotta Have It' to 'Mo' Betta Blues' - extraordinary.
